ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS
This section will help you with the design process of printed materials / disc labels. Using the following guidelines will ensure that your projects move quickly and will help avoid delays:
Replication
-
Graphic elements should be at least at 300 dpi, better at 600 dpi.
-
Through the whole cycle of development all the images should be in CMYK (32 bit) printing format (not RGB). Do not use JPEG (or Gif) compression, which is a destructive one.
-
For better accuracy and legibility we recommend to avoid using small caracters when developing your artwork.
-
Convert bitmap characters into outlines.
-
Please use vector elements (cdr, ai, eps, ps, fh ...) and include PDF (or Tiff) proof files at 300 dpi, CMYK color format.
-
Include (if possible) a printed proof with your files.
-
Common artwork formats are: Adobe illustrator, Macromedia Freehand, Corel Draw, Macromedia Fireworks, Adobe Photoshop, tiff, vector pdf, eps....
-
Artwork must include a 3mm bleed on all sides (except for label artwork), all text and images should be at least a further 5mm from the crop guides.
-
Create a separate folder for each project (for example [booklet], [Inlay], [Label], etc.
-
Please include a manabò (sequence of pages) if your booklet or folder contains more than two pages.
Duplication
Follow the same giudelines, but:
- We recommend white background image or photographic image for your label artwork. Please avoid using monochromatic label (for example, all red, black, etc.) because of inkjet printers' limitations. Can not change your project? We advise you to choose offset/silkscreen printing (replication technology only). Otherwise we will need you to sign a waiver. Call for details.
USB PEN - TYPES OF PRINTING
You can customise your pen drive using different types of printing
-
Silkscreen printing
It is a printing tecnique that seep in a small loom the colour, before touching the pen drive surface.
It is used on flat and spherical surface. For all the other forms it can be used the "tampografica" printing.
The yeld of printing is clear and clean!
-
Laser Incision
With this method the printing uses a laser beam directly on the pen drive surface.
The result is very precice, accurate and indelebile. A metal surface is particularly adapt to this type of printing.
-
Relief printing
The logo is burned in on the surface and appears in relief on particular materials, as skin or wood.
-
Epoxy Resin
The Epoxy resin is a particular matter that cover the printed logo and makes it indelebile.
It gives a bright and rubber effect to the object. It is perfect to give prominence to your logo that can be printed using four printing colours.
-
Four colors printing
With this type of printig we have a final result similar to silk-screen printing, but it is possible to have a large variety of colours. You can print also photos and pictures with a perfect yeld.

MASTER SPECIFICATIONS
Your source disc is read by your driver? Mind that it doesn't mean that it is suitable for replication. Follow the following quidlines to avoid errors during the master check phase:
-
Send 2 copies of your source CD/DVD. Please use different brands, the duplicated otptical media will be the same of source sent to Shelve.
-
Use quality recordable media.
-
Select mild speed write mode from the configuration settings available in the CD recorder software (2X is the best).
-
Please choose the "Disc-at-Once" feature during the recording process (do not use "track at once"). Discs submitted in this format present the least opportunity for errors to creep into the master.
-
Source disc must be single session and closed. Not closed CDs can impact your turnaround time by causing high error rates to the tasting equipment prior to glass mastering.
-
Do not use rewritable media (CD-RW, DVD-RW).
-
In order to facilitate CD tracking we ask you to sign each copy on its surface. (Remember to write on the appropriate side of the disc).
-
Remember to use an appropriate digital format for CD-Audio. CD-DA (Compact Disc - Digital Audio) is the official designation for the audio-only format on CD (not MP3/MP4 etc.).
-
Need to pack 700MB onto your CD? Okay, but know that exceeding 650MB violates the recommended Yellow book CD-Rom limit and may affect the quality of the product.
-
DVD 9 or DVD 10 require DLT Tape (Digital Linear Tape).
USB PEN - UPLOAD DATA
It is possible to upload different types of data: power point presentation; product catalogue, brochure, photos, video and music.
We offer two types of writing: erasable and not erasable.
In the first case data can be cancelled from who received the pen, that can use it for his personal work.
In the second case data cannot be cancelled but are positioned in a memory partition. Who receive the pen can however use the free memory partition for personal use.
Is possible to have also Autorun option, that allows to open automatically the content of the pen when you insert it in PC.
